This month on the Metropolitan Culture Corner, we speak with painter and designer, Pam Marwede. Pam started her career in Sarasota, Florida, then studied printed textile design in London. She has been based in Barcelona since 2017, but works with interior designers and private clients around the world. Her work is recognizable for its highly personal style, and ranges from handmade painted pottery, to transforming old furniture into artistic, colorful pieces, and from wall murals to floorcloths. Her art is designed to be different, but it’s also meant to fit into her clients’ everyday lives, and to make people smile.
Last month, we interviewed author and journalist Toni Castarnado. He has written about topics ranging from basketball to film, but his main passion is popular music. His books Mujer y Música, Mujeres y Música, and Ellas Cantan, Ellas Hablan, specifically focus on women in music. Toni has also written interviews and articles for publications including El Pais, Ruta 66, Rockzone, MondoSonoro, and more.
