This month on the thirtieth episode of the Metropolitan Culture Corner, we interview radio presenter, writer and educator Lucas Avram Cavazos. Lucas moved from Brooklyn to Barcelona fourteen years ago, and since then has become a recognizable figure in both the entertainment world and education circles.
His articles have been published both here and abroad: by the Los Angeles Times, ABC News, Catalonia Today and by our own Barcelona Metropolitan magazine. He is the presenter of English-language radio program The Club with Lucas on RCE (formerly Radio Kanal Barcelona)—where he has interviewed everyone from local musicians to household names, such as director Guillermo del Toro—and is known for using his connections in the world of arts and media to promote local outreach programs and non-profit events. Lucas is also the head of studies at the New Britannia School of English, and tutors university students and professionals in English for business.
Last month, we interviewed interior designer and visual artist Kelli Ellis. The California native and Barcelona resident has become a familiar face on television over the past 20 years, both in the US and internationally. Nearly a decade ago, Kelli created the Design Psychology Coaching program, and co-founded Interior Design Camp and Design Campus, which aims to educate interior designers, decorators and design lovers from around the globe. She is a regular keynote speaker and panelist at international design conferences, and is the VP of Global Industry Relations for Ronati, a technology platform dedicated to the success of art and antiques dealers worldwide.
