Knock on Wood! Design, Wood and Sustainability

The exhibition focuses on wood as a key material at the service of human cultural evolution, presenting a broad historical view that brings it to the present day, dedicating a large area to the current applications of wood (design applied to construction, automobiles, aeronautics, textiles, acoustics, health, energy...), in favor of the sustainability of the planet and as a foundation of the circular bio-economy. 

The exhibition, approached from the design point of view, focuses on the wooden objects that over time have meant a turning point in human life. In the last decades, after a period of substitution of wood for other materials in different areas, the design and architecture in wood is being recovered and promoted as a key tool to maintain the quality of life of the planet, and to face the current environmental crisis.
