The Spring Festival of l’Hospitalet, Barcelona, returns to La Farga with two spectacular evenings of live music that show a clear commitment to the most vibrant sounds of today, between tradition and modernity.
On the first day, the Galician Tanxugueiras, will show why this group was by far the public's favorite at the recent Benidorm festival. Sabela Maneiro, Aida Tarrío and Olaia Maneiro are three singers for a new decade. Only they are able to reinterpret the sounds of an ancient tradition by merging it with urban rhythms. Their energy, empowerment, forcefulness and vocal virtuosity are the greatest exponents of this innovative style, known as "trad." The Balkan Paradise Orchestra will open the evening, an all-female Catalan group that, as its name suggests, is nourished by Balkan influences..
On the second day, it is Juanito Makandé's turn. With an enviable discography and a myriad of concerts behind him, the Cadiz native has earned the recognition of the public, press and professionals as one of the most unique artists on Spain's independent music scene. "A free singer-songwriter," as he likes to call himself, with an innate ease in connecting with the audience, Makandé's new studio album, Folklore Sintético, will be released in the coming months. The creator of Niña volara never disappoints live and in l'Hospitalet there will be no shortage of his usual great songs. The evening will open with the new musical project of the film director Carlos Salado, the highly personal group of rumba rogue Uña y Carne.
