The exceptional sky of Montsec and the commitment to turn it into an element of tourist development meant that since 2013 it has been internationally recognized as one of the best skies in the world for astronomical observation and enjoyment of starlight. UNESCO's Man and Biosphere (MaB) program certified the Montsec sky as a Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve, accreditation that was renewed in 2017.
The Astronomical Park of Montsec is the basic pillar of research, training and dissemination of astronomy in Catalunya. The goal of the Montsec Astronomy Festival is to bring science closer to young and old as a new form of tourism: Tourism of the Stars.
Enjoy an experience in which science and tourism are combined with activities aimed at all ages: workshops, experiments, guided tours, concerts and much more all held under the spectacular sky of Montsec.
