Metropolitan Culture Corner: Yves Roussel

by

Welcome back to the Metropolitan Culture Corner! Since the monthly interview series began, we’ve featured photographers, authors, visual artists, musicians and this month MCC host Tori Sparks speaks with internationally renowned mastering engineer Yves Roussel. He has worked on everything from Woody Allen movie soundtracks to commercials, from Grammy-winning pop records to local bands’ latest radio singles and he shows no signs of slowing down after 20+ years in the business.

Not sure exactly what a mastering engineer does? Watch the interview to find out!

Last month the MCC featured actress, poet, writer, director, and the current “Madame,” of Barcelona’s own Prostíbulo Poetico (“poetry brothel”), Sonia Barba. And coming next month, Tori interviews musical dynamo Dani Nel.lo. The Spanish saxophone player is a former member of the iconic rock band Los Rebeldes, as well as a radio host, a television and soundtrack producer, a music historian, and the leader of multiple musical projects including Los Mambo Jambo.

Stay tuned to Metropolitan’s YouTube channel and social media—you’ll love the line-up we have planned for you for the rest of 2020! (Can't view the video above? You can watch it here.)
