Batman in Barcelona
In these difficult times, we all need another hero, and Barcelona’s Comic Fair will be crammed with them, not least Batman; the event sees the global launch of a comic portraying the caped crusader saving the city from a modern-day dragon, Batman in Barcelona: Dragon’s Knight. Also at the fair will be guest illustrators from around the world whose styles are as varied as their nationalities: US creator of Hellboy Mike Mignola rubs shoulders with Frenchman Nicolas Wild who gained fame with his autobiographical Kabul Disco: How I wasn’t kidnapped in Afghanistan (2007).
In parallel there will be screenings of popular films based on comicbook heroes at the Filmoteca include Hellboy, 300, Persepolis, Ghost World and Sin City.
Exhibitions, including the winners from last year's fair, Pasqual Ferry ( El Juego de Ender), Gipi (S.), Carlös (Carlos Areces) (Ocurrió cerca de tu casa: Sabe Dios), Roger Ibañez (Jazz Maynard) y Paco Roca (Arrugas) author discussions and workshops complete the long weekend.
