New Year's Eve at the W Hotel
Celebrating New Year's Eve in Barcelona is very much like celebrating in most other major cities, with a few local traditions added in. With each chime at midnight you must eat one grape. That's harder than it sounds, so get your 12 seeded grapes prepared in advance. And, don't forget to wear some red undies. Generally people have dinner at home and then head out to one of the many parties going on at pubs and bars all over the city. Most clubs will charge between €20 and €40 euros for entrance, including a couple of free drinks (discounts for those arriving before midnight). The metro will be running all night.
For those who want to count down to 2017 in plenty of company, here's our list of some of the top parties in town.
