Defender of the rights of writers, she achieved significant improvements in her employment situation and her relationship with publishers. She was one of the creators of the "Latin American boom" and an essential figure in the career of authors such as Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa, thus creating a close link with the city of Barcelona.
