The Parish of Sant Francesc de Paula is one of the most recent religious temples erected in Barcelona. It was built in 2009 by the architects Guillermo Maluenda and Tom Ivars to meet the need for a new parish in the Diagonal Mar neighborhood.
The building has an elongated pentagonal plan in the shape of a fan and in the direction of a vertex where it becomes a semicircular presbytery. It consists of multiple lateral dependencies, such as the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, and other attached or superimposed with a modern and glazed vestibule. At the end of the main façade is the bell tower, symbolizing an open door in heaven.
The Parish of Sant Francesc de Paula is part of the Archbishopric of Barcelona.
