Pianist Yonathan Avishai and double bassist Omer Avital consider the duo to be "a unique and focused musical experience." Accustomed to playing each other's music in different formations such as the Third World Love Quartet and Avital's quintet, they return to Barcelona to offer us this intimate, chamber music experience, “but always with the feeling that there is a party right next door." Israelis who share Yemeni Jewish origins, their common heritage carries over into their music and original compositions, always deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. About their concerts, they say that each one is a "poetic and very swinging" journey. And they are right, of course.
