Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist, Lorna Tucker, (2018, UK)
Family feuds, business confessions and no false modesty: a ruthless portrayal of the industry from the irreverent baroness of British fashion.
There are designers, like Karl Lagerfeld, who greeted at the end of their fashion shows with the ceremony typical of the moment. Others, like Raf Simons, seem to suffer every one of the three seconds that they look out on the catwalk. And then there was Vivienne Westwood, who sometimes appeared on a hospital stretcher, other times unfurling a banner protesting climate change, dancing with her models, hand in hand with Pamela Anderson or Tracey Emin. The designer has done everything her way since she started out as a punk shopkeeper. She was also the first to sound the alarm when that movement turned into something that didn't attack the establishment, but became entertainment. She shared her career in this documentary in which she did not miss the opportunity to tell uncomfortable truths and, incidentally, skinned her ex, Malcolm McLaren a bit.
Film will be screened in original version with Spanish subtitles.
