With a sound inspired by New York-style jazz with a strong rhythmic component, renowned musicians from the Catalan, Valencian and Andalusian scene Voro García Roommates combine the best of each side of the Atlantic with an amalgam of hard bop and blues.
At the fore of the project is Valencian trumpeter and composer Voro García. He is a part of several parallel musical projects, such as Perico Sambeat Flamenc Big Band, Sedajazz Big Band or Dave Kikoski European Quartet, among others.
García will be accompanied by Enrique Oliver, an Andalusian saxophonist who also works with musicians such as Perico Sambeat, Roger Más, Ernesto Aurignac, Albert Sanz, Jorge Rossy, Albert Bover, Joan Chamorro and Jaume Llombart. In fact, Llombart also brings his restless and avant-garde guitar playing to the project.
The rhythm section is formed by contrabassist Marko Lohikari, a noted Scandinavian musician and current member of the trio of the pianist Marco Mezquida, and Jorge Rossy, the recent recipient of the Jazzterrasman Award in 2020.
They perform a daytime show at JazzTerrassa 2022.
