In the year of the pandemic, the pianist Tigran Hamasyan released his 9th album, The Call Within: a high-intensity, dreamlike jolt around a universe inspired by maps from all eras. Some of the inspiration for the compositions came from Armenian folk stories; other parts of it came rom geometry, cinema, and other disciplines.
