In The Obituary of Tunde Johnson, a wealthy, Nigerian-American teenager is pulled over by police, shot, and immediately awakens, trapped in a terrifying time loop that forces him to confront difficult truths about his life and himself. Tackling the social issues of racism, police brutality, LGBTQ discrimination, mental health stigmas, and addiction, this film confronts hard issues which continue to be all too prevalent in American society. 

A tense, gripping, and smartly-structured movie that defies genre and will linger in your mind days after you’ve seen it, it also effectively captures the unique pressures of being both Black and gay in today’s world.
