to
Palau de la Música Catalana Carrer Palau de la Música 4-6, 08003 Barcelona
When the clock strikes midnight on Christmas Eve, Clara, a brave and daring young woman, fights with toy soldiers and mischievous mice. Together with her prince, she travels to a wonderful world full of magic and fantasy, where she finds the inner strength that she did not know she had.
With its unmistakable music, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker has become an undisputed classic of the Christmas repertoire. This special version, featuring selections from the ballet suite—such as the March, the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and the Waltz of the Flowers—combines narration in Catalan by Luis Posada with sand illustrations by Borja González, projected on screen in time with the musical performance.
The Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, under the direction of Daniel Gil de Tejada, offers an immersive experience that combines story, music, and imagery to ignite the imagination of both young and old.
Premiering for the first time in 1892, The Nutcracker has enchanted audiences across the globe for over 100 years with its story of young Clara entering into a world of dancing toys, mice and sugar plum fairies.
