The supergroup The Music of BIG STAR will revive one of the perfect repertoires of songs made with guitar, bass and drums in an exclusive tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Houston Party.
The deluxe lineup includes Jody Stephens, the only living founding member of Big Star, who will be on drums, Mike Mills (REM), Chris Stamey (the dB's), Jon Auer (The Posies) and Pat Sansone (Wilco ).
The quintessential and pioneering power-pop band was also much more than that because Big Star signed only three studio albums, yes, but all three sublime and full of songs that could and should have been hits.
