Enjoy The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (April 14), The Two Towers (April 15) and The Return of the King (April 16) in concert at Palau Sant Jordi.
Peter Jackson's award-winning epic fantasy adventure, based on the novels by J.R.R. Tolkien, follows a hobbit named Frodo Baggins, who finds himself in possession of the all-powerful One Ring, and the brotherhood formed to take him to Mount Doom to destroy it.
In this screening, the music of Middle-earth will come to life, with the Oscar-winning score by Howard Shore, performed live by the Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés, conducted by Ludwig Wicki and accompanied by soprano Kaitlyn Lusk. As the film plays on the big screen, the orchestra will be joined by the Cor Madrigal, Cor Bruckner choirs and the Cor Vivaldi children's choir. Films will be screened in original version with Spanish subtitles.
Considered one of the most ambitious projects in film history, it took eight years to bring The Lord of the Rings to the screen. The result was a huge artistic success, with the trilogy winning a total of 17 Academy Awards, and all three films among the highest-grossing films of all time.
