This is the sixth performance of The Bad Plus at the jazz festival, now reincarnated as a quartet instead of a trio, and without a piano. Indeed, double bassist Reid Anderson and drummer David King have recruited two of the most influential personalities in contemporary jazz for this third version of The Bad Plus: guitarist Ben Monder and saxophonist Chris Speed. 

The point is that The Bad Plus continues to be The Bad Plus, even as their music shifts from jazz to pop and back again, and as their line-up changes over time. The Bad Plus are, above all, creators of exciting soundscapes that keeps audiences coming back again and again.
