Led by the team from Serielizados, the CCCB take a journey to Suburbia to explore the American television series that have taken root in our collective imagination.
From family sitcoms set in houses on tree-lined streets to high school series and intimate dramas set in domestic spaces, the suburban landscape is one of the most common settings in television. In this roundtable, speakers will delve into a series with the help of Serielizados, Ainhoa Marzol, and Enric Albero, in search of the stereotypes and images from American broadcast media that have fed popular culture around the world.
The second half of the session will be dedicated to a conversation with Robin Green, co-creator of The Sopranos and multiple Emmy award winners. In her recent memoir, The Only Girl (Little, Brown and Company, 2018), she tells the story of her beginnings as a journalist at Rolling Stone and her time as a screenwriter for some of the most famous TV series in recent decades.
This event will be in Spanish, English and Catalan.
