Trained in Tehran and Paris in the Persian tradition, Taghi Akhbari is one of the most unique voices exploring the musical crossroads between Christian and Sufi mysticism.
Since his first public appearance before a European audience at Royaumont Abbey in 2005, he has collaborated with artists such as Robert Wilson, Dariush Tala’i and Kudsi Erguner, and with the ensemble Doulce Mémoire. In 2009 he was awarded the Diapason d’Or for his recording of "Laudes."
Her performs for the first time in Barcelona, accompanied by the Delgoshâ ensemble. He will present a sonic journey through the legacy of two great mystics: Rumi, and St. John of the Cross.
