Album-tour. Album-tour. Album-tour... The mechanisms of the music industry have created the illusion that these two concepts are linked, as if one were the extension of the other. But that formula doesn't work in the case of Shellac. To paraphrase Bartleby, they would rather not. The members of Shellac have released the music that they have seen fit and in the way that they have wanted (be it an exclusive live show for the Japanese market, or an album instrumental distributed among friends). In the same way, they give concerts and hit the road only when they feel like it.
