British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason is one of the brightest stars in classical music in recent years. Winner of the 2016 BBC Young Musicians Competition, he has performed with major orchestras and in prestigious concert halls around the world such as the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York, a concert that was part of a successful US tour.
He became a household name in May 2018 after performing at the Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle. He has released two albums with Decca, his debut being Inspiration (2017) and his second album Elgar (2020), a concert he recorded at Abbey Road studios with Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra. Upon its release, Elgar reached number eight on the Official UK Albums Chart, making Sheku the youngest classical instrumentalist and the first cellist in history to reach the UK Top 10.
