Pride and Prejudice, Joe Wright (UK, 2005)

The five Bennet sisters were all brought up by a mother obsessed with finding them husbands. But one sister, Lizzy, longs for something more from life. When a wealthy bachelor, Mr Bingley, and his circle of sophisticated friends move into a neighbouring mansion for the summer, the Bennet girls are all thrilled at the prospect of finding suitors. That is to say, all except Lizzy. Joe Wright's Pride and Prejudice is one of the most charming and delightful adaptations of Jane Austen’s work with period dress, dancing and plenty of romantic tension.

Film will be screened in English and subtitled in Spanish.

The evening opens at 20:45 with live music from the Alba Armengou Group, a Barcelonan singer and trumpeter whose repertoire ranges from swing to Brazilian music.
