At the age of 25, Mozart settled permanently in Vienna and began a frenetic life of concerts, compositions, commissions, premieres, private lessons and a lot of social life. "Musical intrigues" at the imperial court were the order of the day: Italian composers dominated (with Salieri at the forefront) and the struggles to obtain commissions from the emperor were virulent. The success of Mozart's music was undeniable, but little by little the Viennese were leaving him aside. Only the Prague public remained faithful: there he premiered Don Giovanni and triumphed with other immortal works.
