Plaid, also known as Ed Handley and Andy Turner, have been an institution since the late 1980s, pillars for any electronic music fan; mainly as Plaid, but also under the alias The Black Dog and Balil, not to mention their work with Bjork. At the height of their thirtieth anniversary under the umbrella of the Warp Records label, Plaid presents their eleventh album Feorm Falorx, a rhythmic work of angular darkness, but maintaining the melodic sound for which they are loved.
The passion for technology and avant-garde sound are conceptually reflected in the album, which finds the duo recreating a fictional performance at the Feorm Festival, an intergalactic event held on a supposed Falorx planet. In addition, both the album artwork and the band's press photos have been created using DALL·E, OpenAI's artificial intelligence system.
Rounding off the evening, the Valencian producer Pépe will present his recently announced album Reclaim for the first time. His music has gone around the world and has aroused the interest of Ben UFO, Peggy Gou, Shanti Celeste, Moxie, Mount Kimbie and even Disclosure. Reclaim imagines a post-human future, in which nature has a free way to flourish and take root around the structures built by us. In addition, it opens the way to experimentation, with sound design as an accomplice, and at the same time finds in hyperpop a space of surprising maturity, a combination of electronic sounds and pulsating structures, in which orchestral sounds, folk music, ambient textures and a strong presence of vocals shine.
