During the first days of the invasion of Ukraine, the image of a Russian tank with a flag of the USSR evidenced the unpredictable return of history in a present marked by the current conflict. As Blom says, today it seems that nihilism prevails over hope in the world to come. But deciding on the present wisely depends on the ability to look at the past and the future at the same time. What tools does history give us to face the current crisis?
