Pantha du Prince is the stage name of German producer, songwriter and conceptual artist Hendrik Weber (also known as Panthel and Glühen 4). His catalog, which since 2004 includes nine EPs and as many LPs, sounds like a period of time where techno is progressively more reclaimed by nature. With a romantic streak in all of his works that makes them distinctive, Pantha du Prince explored minimalist and dreamy techno at the beginning of his career to create a highly evocative and melodic sub-genre of the music.
That lasted for two albums, after which he expanded into deeper textures featuring more earthy, organic instrumentation. Finally, on this last three albums, he worked with the concept of the human being as part of nature, as an entity that unfolds and flows out of its environment as a body: a trilogy of records where he has continued to expand his electro-acoustic vocabulary.
