After publishing his first quartet album, El Museo Vacío (R3, 2010), a candidate for the AMJM awards and selected for the Ressons circuit, Pablo Sélnik began a recording career with more than fifty titles, as well as collaborations on diverse projects. In 2020, he returned to the quartet after a stay of more than two years in Paraguay. There the work Decadence as a Virtue (Fresh Sound) was created together with local musicians, with whom he formed a second quartet.
After the pandemic, Sélnik decided to take advantage of Paraguayan drummer Sebas Ramírez's stay in Barcelona to rearm the group, with the addition of Jaume Llombart and Santi de la Rubia. He then constituted the third generation of the quartet, with a new repertoire and the experience of more than two decades of experience in Barcelona, but also in Asunción, Hong Kong, Munich, Montevideo, Budapest and other cities around the world. “All of Sélnik's compositions benefit from captivating and imaginative melodies that often linger in the memory,” said critic Roger Farbey of the UK's Jazz Journal. And he was absolutely right.
