In the winter of 1937, George Orwell arrived at the Aragon front poorly armed and without forseeing the relentless cold that would overtake the Alcubierre mountain chain. His footprint in these lands, extensively narrated in Homage to Catalonia, still remains today thanks to the work of people linked to the territory such as the cultural activist and editor Salvador Trallero and the Spanish Civil War scholar Antonio Escartín, who have worked on the recovery and vindication of Orwell's legacy. In this session, both experts, with the moderation of the historian Fernando Casal, revisit the places of war through which Orwell passed, and talk about the task of recovering and sustaining these historical memories.
The event will be held in Spanish.
