The Orfeó Català is a choral society founded in 1891 by Lluís Millet, Amadeu Vives and Aurelia Capmany, and is still a notably choir on the Catalan music scene to this day. Along the way, it became a fundamental cultural reference for the promotion of Catalan music.
The music of Marc Timón — guest composer this season at the Palau de la Música — will be the protagonist of their performance at the Palau de la Música. In addition to a new interpretation of Les Teumpetes de la Mort, which was premiered during the previous season at the Palau by the Cor de Noies, a new commission will be performed for the first time within the framework of the Barcelona Creació concert program, as well as the piece Seven Last Words of the Unarmed by the American composer Joel Thompson.
