The Palau de la Música Catalana's relationship with jazz is long and intense. Few venues in the world of music can display a list of names as complete as the Palau (from Benny Carter to Miles Davis, Duke Ellington to Ella Fitzgerald, Pat Metheny to Maria Schneider, Sonny Rollins to Wayne Shorter, and many others).
This year the Palau recognizes the unstoppable momentum of the Catalan scene in contemporary jazz. La Nit de les Big Bands will bring together two great formations on stage: the Rufaca Folk Jazz Orchestra, which reinterprets the traditional music of the Pyrenees in a jazzy format (an amazing adventure), and the Big Band Jazz Maresme. The Palau del Jazz is undoubtedly located in Barcelona.
