New Year's Eve Show at Monjuïc’s Magic Fountain
to
Plaça Espanya Avinguda María Cristina, 08014 Barcelona
EDU PEDROCCHI
Everything is ready for Barcelona's grand celebration that bids farewell to 2025 and rings in 2026! Pyrotechnics, drones and music take center stage, but this year’s celebration comes with a fresh twist thanks to the participation of Marc Parrot, who has been tasked with drawing on the rhythms and sounds of the past and blending them with the electronic tones and sonic innovations of tomorrow.
The performance is split into four parts, each inspired by one of the four elements: air, water, earth and fire. Each element symbolizes a facet of Catalan identity and is paired with traditional instruments, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Tenores, tibles, flabiols, fiscorns, gralles and guitars will take audiences on a journey through Catalonia’s musical heritage—from ancient melodies to rumba and havaneres—bringing them into the present with new sonic textures.
The result is a New Year’s Eve celebration that blends emotion and tradition with today’s rhythms in a contemporary, festive and moving creation that speaks to the spirit of Barcelona and Catalunya. The show begins ten minutes before midnight and continues into the first ten minutes of 2026.
