The technopop of this New York-based trio hasn't stopped moving forward, paradoxically, by looking back: the influences of Tubeway Army, New Order, Ultravox and OMD are present in the music of Nation of Language as an homage to an era that they did not live.
That hinge between the 70s and 80s, between post-punk and technopop was an important moment in music history. This band’s mix of reverie, inspiration and contemporaneity was already noticeable on their 2020 debut, Introduction, Presence, and shines again on the new album A Way Forward with even more rhythmic presence and daring experimentation.
