In 1721, J.S. Bach fine-tuned the six concertos that two years earlier had been commissioned by Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, to whom they were dedicated. They are emblematic works of their author and of the Baroque musical universe.
The Brandenburg Concertos have always been considered to be exquisite examples of the equilibrium between a small orchestra and an array of soloists. Bach experimented with and explored distinct forms of the Italian concerto which helped him to realize the depths of his creativity through his music.
This month, Brandenburg Concerts presents the soloists of the Baroque Orchestra of Seville in a unique exhibition at the CaixaForum. Get acquainted with a world of dazzling vocals and complex instruments as they delve into the creative genius of Bach.
