During his lifetime, Mozart made three trips to Italy: the first at the age of 14, the second at 15 and the third at 16 years of age. During the first he was still able to display his abilities as a young prodigy—he had just been named Concert Master in Salzburg—and even the Pope fell in love with his art. On the last trip, his goal was already clearly professional: premiering operas, getting commissions and looking for a well-paid workplace. The audience will hear fragments of his first operas and find out why Symphony No. 25 marks the beginning of Mozart's adult stage.
