This dance and percussion group was created in Israel 25 years ago. It offers its most energetic show yet: Currents. A show of great vitality that generates rhythm and sound in a new way, taking its inspiration from history.
The performers make use of different surfaces and found objects such as garbage cans, giving a whole new meaning to the idea of percussion. The show’s dramatic lighting and use of LED screens to underline the noise and movement that make it one of a kind.
Currents is based on the creative battle between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Alva Edison for the invention of modern forms of electricity at a time in history when electrical power was still somewhere between magic and science. Through this show Mayumana seeks to show us that creativity arises when we put our own energy in motion.
