The Malaga-born singer-songwriter María Peláe, has been waging war (musically speaking) on stage for more than 12 years. Her music is characterized by strong lyrics full of social criticism, with autobiographical touches and, of course, with a good dose of the picaresque. Since childhood, there were three women whose songs marked her and whom she took as a reference: Lola Flores, Rocio Jurado and Celia Cruz.
In 2019 Maria Peláe started a completely innovative new project, bringing her current sound to its purest essence. This is how she presented her single at the Blacksmith's House and her latest hit, La Niña, is the perfect combination of contemporary music and the essence of flamenco. In it, Peláe makes use of her already recognizable pregón (rap form) to tell us a very funny story.
