Mando Diao is an alternative rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. Its members have always been free spirits. They followed their own path, resisted authority and enjoyed the hedonistic side of life—elements that have contributed to the successful and musically extensive career of the band, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
It was Björn Dixgård and Gustaf Norén who started the musical project, which they later named Mando Diao and then released their first album Bring 'Em In (2002).
It was not until their third album, Ode to Ochrasy (2006) that they went from performing in small venues in their hometown to the most important European festivals.
