Laurence is a literature teacher who, on her 30th anniversary, declares her situation as a trans woman—to the astonishment of her friends and even her girlfriend—who finally agrees to stay by her side throughout the transition. The next course Laurence teaches the first time in the skin of a woman is literature, welcoming a new and dangerous life in which the weight of social stigma, family rejection and the incompatibility of a romantic partner will end up blowing up her life.
