Tears, laments and the sounds of insanity are all brought to us by conductor Jordi Savall and some of his most loyal, celebrated musician collaborators – all leading references in their chosen instruments, such as Xavier Díaz-Latorre on the guitar, Andrew Lawrence King on the Baroque harp, and Pedro Esteban on percussion. The audience will revel in they display of creativity and inventiveness in music conceived as a living, open phenomenon, inextricably linked to the popular culture of any age.

The concert will also introduce the audience to different traditions and approaches to the art of variation and improvisation, and focuses on the music from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
