CaixaForum Barcelona Av. de Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia 6-8, 08038 Barcelona

A team of British archaeologists led by Sir Joseph Whemple discover the mummified remains of the ancient Egyptian prince Imhotep (played by Boris Karloff), along with the legendary scroll of Thoth. When one of the archaeologists recites the scroll aloud, Imhotep returns to life, but escapes. Several years later, Imhotep has taken on the guise of a wealthy man, as he searches Egypt for his lost love, who he believes has been reincarnated as the lovely archeologist Helen Grosvenor.
The Mummy (US, 1932) is not only one of the fundamental films of Universal Pictures and a masterpiece by Karl Freund—cinematographer of many of the films of Fritz Lang, Tod Browning and F. W. Murnau—but the beginning of a long list of films around the figure of the mummy.
Film will be screened in original version with Spanish subtitles.
