Mas i Mas'23 has the honor of presenting an unprecedented duo, made up of the pianist Michael Kanan and the multi-instrumentalist Jorge Rossy, in this case the vibraphone.

Kanan and Rossy are traveling companions of a glorious, unique generation, which in the early 1990s stirred up the jazz scene and, then, promoted a fruitful relationship between New York and Barcelona, with the Jamboree often being the epicenter of performances and high society meetings.

Colleagues and friends of the Bostonian and the Barcelonan passed by, inclufing Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner and Kurt Rosenwinkel. From then to now, Kanan and Rossy have continued working together on different projects and formats —as a quartet or accompanying the singer Mayte Alguacil. On this occasion, they will play for the first time as a duo in the cellar in Plaça Reial, with a series of pieces arranged expressly for this peculiar format (piano and vibraphone). The repertoire will include a selection of standards and some surprises.
