Jean Toussaint is one of the greatest tenor sax players in the recent history of jazz. Born in Aruba in 1960, he became famous in the early 1980s when the legend drummer Art Blakey called on him to be part of the iconic group, the Jazz Messengers.
This marked the beginning of a glorious career with Wallace Roney, Terence Blanchard, Mulgrew Miller and Donald Edwards, and he has gone on to create his own projects as well. Toussaint has lived in London since 1987 and has collaborated with the likes of Jason Rebello, Andrew McCormack as well as numerous famous American musicians.
He performs live at Jamboree Jazz Club in Barcelona, as a part of the Mas i Mas Festival.
