Set in the countryside in medieval Germany, Giselle is a story inspired by the work De L'Allemagne that Heinrich Heine wrote in 1835.
This piece, premiered in 1841 at the Paris opera, is an absolute masterpiece of romantic ballet and is considered a fundamental work of classical dance both for the treatment of romantic ideals and for the use of the most refined theatrical technique of the nineteenth century.
Directed by Andrey Sharaev and based in the Czech Republic, the company offers versions of the great classics with the spectacular scenery of Eugeny Gurenko and magnificent international soloists. Recently the company has been part of this BBVA Dance Season playing The Sleeping Beauty and now returns with another of the great dance classics.
