This year marks the second edition of the biggest local challenge for all off-shore sailors: The Golden Cup Race. A meeting point for the boating elite, the event offers top-quality race teams to compete against one another on the open water.
The 222-nautical mile course includes sailing towards a turning buoy off the coast of Barcelona before heading to Majorca, where the fleet will round Dragonera Island to starboard and head back to Barcelona, non-stop, to cross the finish line near the emblematic Hotel Vela.
The Golden Cup is for ORC boats and counts towards the Spanish Off-Shore Championship and for the Spanish Cup for Solo and Double-handed boars. It is organized by the Federación Española de Vela.
