Each year, Galacticat presents a select program of horror, sci-fi, action and animation films that is unique to Lleida, screening of more than 100 short films, documentaries and feature films at the Majéstic Cinemas, the Teatre Ateneu and the streets of the capital of Urgell.

This year's festival pays tribute to the world of counterculture and urban tribes of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, from hippies and psychedelia, to punk and queer movements—not only in cinema, but also in music, art, comics and literature. Galacticat will review the history of the cinematographic underground with the screening of classics such as, Bob Dylan: Don't Look Back, D. A. Pennebaker (1967), Let's Get Lost, Bruce Weber (1988), Trainspotting, Danny Boyle (1996), Paris, Texas, Wim Wenders (1984), Pink Floyd: The Wall, Alan Parker (1982) and Spinal Tap, Rob Reiner (1984). In addition, the special Ghost section will host a theatrical projection of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), a classic of 20th-century queer cinema.
