Like few other artists, Guatemalan Gaby Moreno embodies a global and Pan-American idea of music, which mixes blues, jazz, soul and R&B, but also borders genres such as boleros, joropos, calypso and tropicalism.
The best example of this was the extraordinary Spangled! (2019), an English, Spanish and Portuguese album, made with the company of the legendary arranger and composer Van Dyke Parks and the less legendary Jackson Browne, where she erected a monument to Latin American musical talent.
A pulsating and colorful sound, her sixth album was a landmark in a career of more than a decade, during which she has collaborated and toured with Tracy Chapman, Ani Difranco and Hugh Laurie.
