The first edition of Festival 42 will lay down the core principles of this ambitious project. Its principles include a focus on fantasy genres with the aim of bringing these incredible books to a wider audience. They also have a particular focus on the concerns of young readers, female authors, and the new sexualities that have always been explored by this genre.
42 begins this edition with the hope to connect not only with fans, but also with all those curious readers or readers who, to paraphrase Molière, are unaware that they enjoy fantasy. They also hope to provide a window to new approaches to this genre, and to recover and disseminate a cultural and literary heritage that has been unfairly ignored. There will be a set of awards presented to highlight the crème de la crème of the participants, as well as signings with authors and interactive exhibitions, in-depth interviews, and more.
Most events will take place at Fabra i Coats Art Factory, but some smaller events will take place at local libraries and bookshops.
