London’s West End and New York’s Broadway musicals form the soundtrack of our lives. At one time or another we have all been moved by their theater productions or film adaptations. Their stories have appealed to different generations of spectators worldwide, and both the characters and the songs have become 20th-century icons.
One of the most iconic musicals is perhaps The Phantom of the Opera, which premiered in London in 1986 and in The Great White Way in New York a couple of years later. At around the same time, Mar i cel, a Dagoll-Dagom production with music by Albert Guinovart, energized a pre-Olympic city that was a the capital of this musical genre. Don’t miss a concert that will bring back memories—and includes a few surprises, such as Tintin and the Temple of the Sun, a musical about the adventures of Hergé’s best-known character.
